Case Study

Having significantly grown during the last recession through successful acquisitions, this leading iconic financial institution has a renewed commitment to connect with clients on a personal level, be sensitive to their values, and support local communities. To reflect these priorities, a design team was tasked with redesigning several private wealth management locations throughout Los Angeles, tailoring each space to the local geography and client base. In Irvine, California, the move to a new location provided an opportunity to update the aesthetic, blending timeless materials like marble and dark wood with modern elements such as glass, metal, an open stair, and a sleek white breakroom countertop to attract younger clients while honoring established ones. Design challenges included reversing the two-story layout by placing reception on the upper level to address low ceilings below and to avoid framing a competitor's brand image visible through floor-to-ceiling glass. Now, the entrance greets visitors with a marine sculpture and a clear, inviting flow toward the reception desk. Furniture and millwork were carefully positioned to maintain panoramic views of mountains and beach communities, while frameless glass and open structures enhanced the sense of space. Finishing touches, including locally curated art and sculptures, reflect the community's rich culture and resonate with clients who are deeply connected to the local art scene.
