Akerman LLP

“Our design approach was centered around highlighting the rich historical character of the Cal Edison Building, and weaving a modern design interpretation through it’s core. It paralleled Akerman’s well-established brand that took on a forward-thinking approach to a law firm environment.”

Case Study

Akerman LLP’s relocation of their Los Angeles regional office aimed to create a law office that embodied their unique brand. The design seamlessly blended historic charm with modern elements, showcasing exposed concrete, waffle slab ceilings, and hand-painted column numbers that paid tribute to the building’s heritage. Architectural geometries played against the symmetrical grid, while glass, natural stone, glossy ceramic tile, and vibrant accents added captivating contrast. The layout encompassed an open entertaining space, a prestigious boardroom, and versatile meeting areas. A central lounge, flanked by a grand boardroom and well-appointed meeting rooms, connected to an inviting outdoor patio. This vibrant and progressive office perfectly aligned with Akerman’s brand, facilitating success in achieving business objectives and attracting top talent. The transformative power of the space cannot be understated—it has become a tangible representation of Akerman LLP’s values and aspirations, propelling them towards continued growth and excellence.
